A.L. Jackson first found a love for writing during her days as a young mother and college student. She filled the journals she carried with short stories and poems used as an emotional outlet for the difficulties and joys she found in day-to-day life.
Years later, she shared a short story she’d been working on with her two closest friends and, with their encouragement, this story became her first full length novel. A.L. now spends her days writing in Southern Arizona where she lives with her husband and three beautiful children. Her favorite pastime is spending time with the ones she loves.
From the bestselling author of Pulled and Take This Regret comes a gripping new tale of loss and love.
William has spent six years running from his past and the last eight months trying to rid his mind of the dreams that increasingly haunt his nights. Trapped in a world of false ambitions and feigned affections, William knows he’s reached a breaking point and something’s going to give.
Maggie had lived her entire life without hope until one man showed her what it meant to be loved. He’d been her light in a lifetime of darkness. Six years ago, that darkness stole him away. Without him, she’s surrendered herself to an existence she doesn’t know how to escape.
When the family William left behind is struck by tragedy, he is called back to the one place he’s sworn to never return to again.
In a moment that will change his life forever, William comes face to face with the girl who, with one look, captured his heart. He is unable to ignore the buried desires and the hope for the future they’d once believed they’d have.
Now William is ready to fight to take back what had been stolen from him six years before.
But he never imagined what that fight might cost him.
A.L. Jackson gives you an intimate look into the lives of a family bound by an unseen connection in this new contemporary romance.
My spoiler-free review of WHEN WE COLLIDE
(5 stars!)
Once again, the phenomenally talented AL Jackson brings us a gorgeously written, emotionally charged love story that that was heart wrenching, beautiful and uplifting.
This book highlights the gut-wrenching horrors of abuse, the beauty of a second chance, of finding the strength to stand up for yourself and for those you love, and of the healing power of love.
The dedication at the beginning of the book says it all:
“Because it shouldn’t hurt to be touched.”
There are some mistakes we make that we will regret for the rest of our lives.
For Christian Davison, it was the day he betrayed Elizabeth Ayers.
For five years, Christian has regretted the day he walked away from his family and will do anything to win them back.
Can Elizabeth forgive someone who has committed the unforgiveable? Or are there some wounds that go so deep they can never heal?

My spoiler-free review of TAKE THIS REGRET
(6 stars! One of my TOP fav books EVER!)
This is an achingly beautiful, heart wrenching book about a second chance at love and with an wonderfully sweet HEA that tugged at ALL my heart strings!!
The level of emotion it pulled out of me right from the beginning was so strong and intense that I read most of it either with a huge lump in my throat or in tears (most often happy tears since the point of this book is about healing).
Highly, highly recommended!
“She was mine, had always been, and I’d always been hers. Despite what I’d done, the wounds I’d inflicted, she had always been mine…. our hearts had been tied, our bond one that neither of us could ever escape.”
~Christian
* TO BE RELEASED JANUARY 31, 2013*
This will be a prequel novella to “Take This Regret” following Elizabeth & Christian’s romance before the events of that book.

SNIPPET
.
“So how’s your math class going?” Christian wiped a napkin over his mouth, sat back in his chair with a satisfied sigh as he pushed his plate away. Completely casual, he appeared to be unaware of the chaos he created in me.
“Okay, thanks to you.”
A smirk pulled at his mouth.
“What would you do without me, Elizabeth?”
“Oh, I don’t know, find another cute boy to help me with math,” I said, anticipating his reaction if I teased him a little.
For a flash, his eyes narrowed, then a dangerous grin spread across his face.
“So I’m just dispensable, huh? Easily replaced?” He hunched and lowered, pressed his chest into the table to meet me at eye level, this slow playfulness coming across him. “How about I let you fail next time?”
“Well how about I feed you the wrong answers when we study for our next government test?” I countered.
He faked a disbelieving laugh, a gentle ribbing that twisted its way straight to my heart. He was so cute like this, like a harmless boy and not the man who made me fearful, not the one who urged me to hold onto my affections, careful not to let them go.
“You’re going to feed me the wrong answers, huh? You?” he challenged. The entire meal I’d felt his leg stretched under the table, reaching, giving in to casual brushes, then receding as if they hadn’t happened.
Now Christian abruptly extended his leg, wove it between my legs, direct and bold. My breath caught. It was the closest we’d ever come to an embrace.
I averted my gaze, but couldn’t for long because I could feel him staring at me.
His voice dropped. “You, sweet Elizabeth, the most innocent girl I know, is going to feed me the wrong answers? I bet you’ve never even told a lie.”
Heat flooded my face.
He was taunting me, prodding. Is that what he really thought of me? Innocent? But honestly, I guess I was. Well maybe not innocent. . .just inexperienced. I had no idea how to play Christian’s games, no idea of what the girls he surrounded himself with were like, although I could only imagine. It had to be my greatest disadvantage. Vulnerability oozed from my consciousness, and I shifted in discomfort.
Christian could devour me whole.
His expression shifted as he edged even closer, his voice a whisper, “Just how innocent are you, Elizabeth?”
For nine years, they drift through life, unable to forget the one who holds the strings to their hearts.
In an attempt to escape the pain of her past, Melanie finds herself trapped in a loveless marriage, while Daniel loses himself in a career that means nothing without Melanie by his side.
Now, when their lives intersect, neither can deny the connection they felt so long ago.
But will the power that drew them together be enough to heal the wounds from their past, and do they have the courage to overcome the insecurities and fears that threaten to keep them apart?
Pulled is a story of attraction and separation, of destiny and duty, of a love so strong it refuses to give up even when all others have.
My spoiler-free review of PULLED
(4.5 stars!)
An emotionally intense roller coaster!
I read the whole book in one sitting with my heart in my throat, either holding my breath, choked up, or in tears. My heart was literally pounding for most of the story.
“Erin called us soul mates, but I…I’ve always known it was more than that. It’s like we share the same soul, and when we’re apart, each half is looking for the other.”
“I can’t live without you. I haven’t lived a day without you.”
Here are some of our readers’ questions answered by AL Jackson.
Denise C ~ Your books are breathtaking! How long does it take you to write them? Will you ever want to start a series or do you prefer stand alones?
A.L. ~ Hi Denise – Thank you so much. It does tend to take me a long time to write…usually about eight months to a year for one book. While I would never rule a series out, I definitely prefer stand alones. I love the feeling of one book holding an entire story, beginning to end. It probably has a lot to do with the fact that my books tend to be a little heavier, so there is a great amount of satisfaction in giving my characters’ happiness at the end.
A.L. ~ Wow Susan, thank you. That’s always my main goal when I write, hoping that a reader will feel whatever it is my characters are feeling. It does tend to come naturally for me because I spend so much time with my characters in my head, thinking through their situations and how they would react, that I feel I know them personally. It’s always incredibly hard for me to finish a story because I hate to let those characters go.
