6+ stars to each of the books in the trilogy
It pains me to no end that I don’t have proper reviews up for these books. These were one of the first sets of books I read when I first started reading series and were a HUGE part of what inspired me to start reading and blogging again but at the time that I read them, I still wasn’t writing real reviews. I fully plan on rereading someday soon (for the fourth) time and writing out full reviews for them. But, I mean, the whole world loves them so really, that should tell you something about how amazing they are on the very odd chance that you haven’t read them yet.
But for now, I can’t say enough good about these books!! They just grabs you and won’t let go – its been a long time since I literally couldn’t stop myself from HAVING to turn the page. E.L James is just genius at depicting emotions, understanding relationships, and communicating what is going on in her characters’ minds. These books have made my heart burst and break, made me laugh and cry… It is definitely one of my favorite series ever. Hands down. The depth to which the characters are taken and described is beyond words.
A wonderful blend of HOT HOT HOT kinky fuckery and a deep emotional journey and love story… this is one of those series that will stay with you forever!!!
I HIGHLY, HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend these books. One of my absolute TOP favorite series. Hands down.
Official blurb: When literature student Anastasia Steele is drafted to interview the successful young entrepreneur Christian Grey for her campus magazine, she finds him attractive, enigmatic and intimidating. Convinced their meeting went badly, she tries to put Grey out of her mind – until he happens to turn up at the out-of-town hardware store where she works part-time.
The unworldly, innocent Ana is shocked to realize she wants this man, and when he warns her to keep her distance it only makes her more desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her – but on his own terms.
Shocked yet thrilled by Grey’s singular erotic tastes, Ana hesitates. For all the trappings of success – his multinational businesses, his vast wealth, his loving adoptive family – Grey is a man tormented by demons and consumed by the need to control. When the couple embarks on a passionate, physical and daring affair, Ana learns more about her own dark desires, as well as the Christian Grey hidden away from public scrutiny.
Can their relationship transcend physical passion? Will Ana find it in herself to submit to the self-indulgent Master? And if she does, will she still love what she finds?
Erotic, amusing, and deeply moving, the Fifty Shades Trilogy is a tale that will obsess you, possess you, and stay with you forever.
Warning though, this series will ruin you for most other books – truly raising the bar!

Wow, that is a match made in chemistry heaven. They look great together. I hope some bigwigs at Universal/Focus and/or Ms. James sees this. Well done. This is a pair I’ve been trying to conjure up in my head for the past week or so. I like…
Aestas says
LOL thanks!! I know what you mean, it took me FOREVER to figure them out! I found so many ‘almosts’ before finding these 2.
Jacqueline says
WOW! I think you’ve found the perfect man to portray Christian Grey! Are the top & bottom pics both of the same person? I know the bottom picture is that of Jessie Pavelka, however I can’t seem to find the top person. Do you know who he is and whether he’s an actor? It would be so good if, like Lisa said, Universal/Focus or Mrs. James could see this.
Aestas says
Yes, I have his name. The top guy is a model named Tobias Cameroon but its this only image that I like for Christian – I don’t think any of his other pics would be a good fit…. But, I was doing some research and found my dream casting!!! Lyndsy Fonseca and Scott Elrod.

I totally agree with your casting choice for Ana. Lyndsy is beautiful! I don’t agree with Scott Elrod for Christian though. What were the deciding factors for you when choosing him? (besides looks)
Thanks! Love your site.
Aestas says
Hi LindzA86 🙂
I think the reason I chose Scott Elrodwas he is the best (in my opinion) by far of any of the options for the role that I have seen. I have advocated from the first day that the movie was announced that I wanted an UNKNOWN actor in the roll. Nobody who we would recognize from previous major roles. But the thing about unknown actors, is its nearly impossible for the public to cast them in advance because they are, in fact, unknown. I don’t actually honestly care whether Scott Elrod in particular gets the roll. But what I do care about is that someone very much like him gets it – gorgeous, with clearly some on screen experience, but that we don’t know on a first name basis and haven’t already seen in 3-30 big budget movies… I just want a fresh gorgeous face. And by far, he is the best I’ve seen so far…. But I’m more than open to other suggestions. So long as someone LIKE him gets the roll, I’m happy 😛
I have to say though, I do think That Lyndsy Fonseca in particular would be seriously PERFECT for the roll. She just IS everything I pictured Ana to be.
Thanks about the site btw – so glad you like it!

I can’t believe you found the Mr Grey I imagined, Tobias Cameroon!
My picture of Ana is more like Kirsten Stewart, I think she’d make a great Ana.
Emily says
I totally agree with Lyndsy as Ana!! She’s so hot and I loved her in Kick-Ass! I like your original vision of Christian better than Scott though :\ he doesn’t fit it for me, but that’s just my opinion, haha! xxx
Samantha says
Who’s the girl in the second picture?
I love the idea of Lyndsy Forseca as Anastasia. She’s gorgeous and definitely similar to how I pictured Ana. Either her or Felicity Jones.
And my take on Fifty would be either Matthew Bomer or Henry Cavill. But that’s just me!
I’m so in love with this series. 🙂
Aestas says
@ Emily: I actually totally agree that my original pic of Christian is my fav! Unfortunately, while that guy looks the part in that particular part, if you look at his other pics, I just don’t see him as quite fitting the role – his name is Tobias Cameroon if you feel like doing a little googling 😛
@Samantha: The girl in the second picture is Anna Popplewell. But I still like Lyndsy best for the role – she just totally looks exactly like I imagined Ana to look when I was reading.
Personally, Henry Cavill is my Alexander (from The Bronze Horseman) so I just can’t see him as two characters in my mind and if I had to pick, I’d say he’s beyond perfect for Alexander… Matt Bomer I could technically maybe see in the role, but the problem is, to me, that he’s too small physically – I just always imagined Christian as having broad shoulders and being tall (not like freakishly tall, but not 5″11″ either)
Rachel says
Who is the last picture of?? Wow totally what I was thinking for Christian….
Steamy!!!
Aestas says
The last guy is Jessie Pavelka. Isn’t he kind of perfect isn’t he?
Rachel says
Not kinda… Wow to the T!! I am drooling!!

No I haven’t! I’m usually happy with the original books. It’s rare for me to read an alt.POV.
