Short, sweet and smokin’ HOT! ♥

Fans of the Up In The Air series were treated to a hint at Lana and Akira’s story in Grounded and now we get to see their story in full detail.

Lana is returning to Maui, her beloved childhood home, on a business trip eight years after having her heart broken by the only man she’s ever loved. Her heart has never healed and she has never moved on. But little does she know, that despite all the years and miles separating them, he’s never forgotten her either.

“He made a little noise of sympathy in his throat, stroking my hair. “Oh, Lana,” he whispered. “I only ever seem to hurt you, no matter what I do.”

When they meet again, HOLY CHEMISTRY !! It’s mingled with a heavy undercurrent of emotions stemming from their unrequited love which added a nice depth to the story.

My heart just ached for them! They were both so clearly head over heals for each other and their connection was THERE! Lana wanted him so desperately, you could just feel it. And despite it being clear that he cared oh-so-deeply for her, there was something holding him back. Something she had to push through.

And my my my is this book HOT! Lana was no blushing virgin! She knew what she wanted and had no qualm about going after it. And Akira was just amazing. A wonderful big tattooed hero that nobody messed with who had always had this huge soft spot for his girl. But for so many reasons, he just didn’t feel like he deserved her.

I loved watching them come together and find each other again.

“I think I could stay like this forever, with you,” I told him quietly.
He pressed a cheek against my hair, wrapping his arms around my shoulders. “Why don’t you, then? Give me one good reason why you can’t…?”

In only about 100 pages, RK Lilley managed to wrap in the depth and emotion of a full length novel. I almost feel like it was more of a condensed novel than a short story. It was a fast, wonderful read with a happy ending that tugged my heart strings and made me blush and fan myself.

“I love you,” I said breathlessly…
“Good,” he murmured roughly, “because I’m keeping you forever.”

There are also cameos from James and Bianca and because of that, readers will get some slight spoilers as to the ending of the Up In The Air trilogy so if you absolutely want to keep yourself spoiler-free, I suggest you read those first. But if you don’t mind either way, this can technically be read as a stand alone.

If you haven’t yet read the smokin’ hot UP IN THE AIR series, you are missing out on some amazing reading!!  This whole trilogy is a delicious blend of heart-clenching emotion, fan-yourself hotness, make-you-blush kink, combined with an engaging plot that keeps you flipping the pages. Plus there’s the added bonus of it being a completed trilogy so – no cliffhangers!

Akira led me to a dark SUV, opening the passenger door for me, and putting my bag in the back.  He turned on the car, cool air rushing out of the A/C vents immediately.  I sat in the seat, and he came back to my door, crowding me a little.  “I’ll go return her keys, since I can drive you.”  He touched the flower in my hair lightly, his eyes intense.  “Be right back.”

He was gone for maybe a minute before I realized that I could just change while he was gone.  I had changed into my swimsuit in his car countless times.  Why should it be any different now?  I climbed into the back seat, sliding out of my stilettos and then my tight skirt.  I grabbed the first matching bikini pieces that I saw, slipping on the bottoms before taking off my top.  Because I was trying to hurry, my fingers fumbled with every button of my blouse.  I unsnapped my front-clasping bra, shrugging out of it.  I realized, only after I was topless, that the bikini top was a tangled mess.  I was still untangling the thing when Akira opened the driver’s seat door.
He froze, just froze, staring at my naked breasts.  They were heaving in agitation, my nipples hard from the car’s blasting A/C.
 
I grimaced at him.  “Sorry.  I thought I’d save us a trip and get my swimsuit on now,” I said, expecting him to close his door and wait outside, to give me privacy.  The windows were tinted dark enough that they did actually conceal most of the interior of the car.
 
But he didn’t close the door.  Instead, he sat, buckling his seat belt.  And then he did something that absolutely stunned me.  He reached up one of his big, dark hands, and adjusted his rearview mirror, blatantly watching me.  It froze me in my tracks, and I was too surprised to move for long moments, my breasts quivering as my breaths grew jerky and uneven.

  16. I loved the serie of Up in the air, #3 was my favorite because in the others they were getting to know each other and all that stuff, in the 3 the story was sooo goood that I finished it in a day! Thanks for the giveaway
