So I know I’m a little (ok, a lot) late with getting this page up but it’s been a busy month for me. But here are the list of books currently sitting at the top of my reading list. However…. before you read this page, if you haven’t already checked them out and are looking for a hot new romance recommendation, check out this link:
But…. if what you’re looking for is what’s next on my reading list, then you’ve come to the right place 😀
Please bear in mind that unless I have a review posted these are not official “recommendations” as I have not yet read them but rather these are books that look good to me and I’m interested in reading so hopefully you’ll be able to maybe find something new to read here too!
Also, since I read based on my mood of the moment, I may not necessarily read everything on this list! I also add and delete books from here all the time and am very much of a ‘last minute’ reader so I rarely know exactly what I’m going to read next until about five minutes before I actually start the book. My “full” reading list is considerably longer than this but, at the moment, these are the books sitting at the top of my list!
And finally, given how many indie books get released all the time, it’s quite likely that one might come out suddenly that just shoots to the top of my list so again, this is just a general selection of the books I’d like to get to in the near future.
** They are not listed in any particular order.
** This does not include any advance copy books on my list.
** If you are ever looking to find this list again, the link to it is in the blog’s right side bar.
Ohhh and, I love getting recommendations so if there are any books you’d like to suggest to me, just comment on this post with the name and author!! 😀
- Stinger by Mia Sheridan. This is the latest New Adult Romance Standalone release from the author of Leo & Leo’s Chance. While it continues that series, the story/characters are not connected to the rest of the series and you do NOT have to read any other books first. I’ve been hearing amazing things about this one and it’s high on my personal TBR!
- A Song For Julia by Charles Sheehan-Miles. After reading Just Remember To Breathe recently, I have become hooked on this author’s writing. The books in this series are all standalones and absolutely beautifully written!!
- Love and Lists by Tara Sivec. This is the first book in the Chocolate Lovers spinoff – Chocoholics: The foul-mouthed offspring tell their stories. I adored Seduction & Snacks (never laughed so hard in my life!!) and can’t wait to read Gavin’s story!
- The Dark Light of Day by T.M. Frazier. I’ve had this book recommended to me several times on Goodreads so I’ve added it to my list. From the blurb: “Two broken souls that can’t be healed. They can’t be saved. Abby & Jake have to decide if they can accept the darkness not only within one another, but within themselves. If they can accept each other for who they really are, they might be able to learn that love isn’t always found in the light.”
- All Of You by Christina Lee. What’s this? A tattooed hero who is not only “not” a manwhore, but is actually a VIRGIN??! Holy unicorn! This I must read!
- Everything I’ve Never Had by Lynetta Halat. This one is rating quite well and looks really good! From the blurb: One night. One song. One kiss. The perfect trifecta to unleash the floodgates of a forbidden attraction between the widow and her husband’s bad boy cousin, Adrian.
- Rules of Regret by Megan Squires. I saw this book mentioned on Colleen Hoover’s wall and loved the sound of it! I missed reading about a ‘good guy’ hero so I read it early this month. Read my Review.
- Worth The Fight by Vi Keeland. New standalone MMA fighter book!! “But what can the tattooed, hard-bodied MMA fighter and the beautiful and always steady attorney have in common? A lot more than they bargained for.”
- The Siren by Tiffany Reisz. I’ve had this series on my TBR for a while now and am thinking about bumping it back up the list. While this is the first book, I heard some great things about the series as a whole. Publishers Weekly says: “While both characters are well drawn, the author never quite makes either completely sympathetic, and many are likely to find the themes contained in the story‚ – including hard-core S&M and a sexual relationship with a Catholic priest‚ – objectionable. Sensationalistic but not overly compelling.”
- The Missionary by Jack Wilder. This been getting amazing early reviews!! This is a standalone written by Jasinda Wilder’s husband and is about an ex-Navy SEAL who goes to rescue a kidnapped girl that he was beginning to fall for. **EDIT: Just read this last night – what an eye-opener! Review to come.
- Keep Me Still by Casey Quinn. The blurb on this one looks so good and I’ve heard the hero is very swoony!! It’s a New Adult romance that can be read as a standalone but there will be more coming in the series.
- Cross My Heart by Katie Klein. This is an older one from my TBR that I’ve been wanting to read for a while now. It’s a bad boy romance and apparently there’s a twist that no one sees coming so I’m very, very intrigued!!
- What I Didn’t Say by Keary Taylor. Hmmm this one caught my eye because of how different the premise sounded. It’s about a guy who loses his ability to speak in a car accident but was never able to tell the girl he’s been in love with for years how he felt… it’s a second-chance romance standalone.
- The Boots My Mother Gave Me by Brooklyn James. Technically this is an older standalone romance I’ve had on my TBR for a while now but it since it just got a new cover (and an included epilogue) so I’m bumping it back up my list. From the blurb: a fast-paced story about a girl who is tough enough to survive and tender enough to learn to trust in love.
- Willing Captive by Belle Aurora. This is another book I’ve been hearing good things about! The blurb says this is NOT a dark romance and it IS a standalone. Readers are telling me it’s a must read and that it has humor, suspense and steam!
- Just Remember To Breathe (Thompson Sisters #1) by Charles Sheehan-Miles. I just finished reading this and LOVED it!! One of the best written books I’ve read in a while. It’s about a returned soldier and the girl he’s always loved getting a second chance at their forever. Highly recommended! Read my review.
- The Tied Man by Tabitha McGowan. This is a very “dark” book but sometimes that’s just what I want. A friend of mine read this recently and gave it 5 stars! But warning, there are instances of non-consentual sex in it and some of the scenes are extremely graphic. In this book though, it’s the guy who is held captive and “In a dark, modern twist to an age-old story, Lilith Bresson proves that sometimes it’s the princess who needs to become the rescuer.”
- Lost & Found (Emi Lost and Found #1) by Lori Otto. This series is on many readers’ most favorite list. It’s a completed trilogy and I hear it’s an ‘atypical romance’. I’ve been told by the people who have read it that it’s one of the most emotional series they’ve read so that peaked my curiosity! I’ve heard that the first one doesn’t have a happy ending but the last one does.
- Almost by Anne Eliot. I’ve had this recommended to me several times as a great standalone. I’ve been told it’s a little humorous, a little sad, and a lot swoony. Apparently I need to meet this hero so… it’s on my list oh and, he has a secret!! Teehee, I’m always drawn to those 😉
- By A Thread by R.L. Griffin. I hear this has a dark subject matter and a lot of twists and turns and really sucks you into the story. It’s the first of a trilogy (second book, Tension, is already out).

There is a review on my blog/website and I also posted it originally on my Goodreads and Amazon. I love to read and after reading his first novel, the second was a no trainer. Emi’s Lost & Found will be a book that you remember forever (I read it a year ago and the series is one of my top favorites) and beg other people to read. It’s a fabulous series that’s so well written and will have you feeling alllll the emotions! I loved Original Sinners series (also in a class by itself), but I had to push through The Siren (it was slowish). The next three books are really fantastic!!

The Beck brothers Series by Andria Large is so good. Has the best ever epilogue, in the last book that pulls all four books together.

Ohh…if you want your heart race, with a love story and a happy ending ❤ do I have a series for you! Songs of Submission (Beg, Tease, Submit, Jessica/Sharon (optional short), Control, Burn, Resist, Rachel (optional short), and Sing) by C.D. Reiss!! I was hooked after the first book (also great because Beg is offered FREE) – the author just finished the series and it’s one I keep re-reading all of them because I think it’s so well written and LOVE the characters!
