“Remember that night… Do you remember what I said after?”
I nod.
“I protect those I love.”
Sweet Cheeks is the perfect read for fans of sexy, swoony second chance romances and Hollywood love stories! The heroine is reunited with her high-school sweetheart who’d broken her heart years ago after he left her to chase his dreams in Hollywood. But what she didn’t know was that leaving her had broken him too and even though he was now a mega-movie star, he never forgot her. When things got complicated in her personal life and she found herself needing a pretend date to her ex’s wedding, he stepped in without question thus throwing them back together for a whole sexy weekend in paradise where they were forced them to face the intense feelings they both still had!
Now, usually, I try to sort of “set up” the story a little more than that in my review, but I’ll be honest, I really like this blurb and it does a great job of telling you what to expect, so I’m just going to share it here:
It all started with the invitation. To my ex-fiance’s new wedding.
I should have ignored it.Thrown it away. Set it afire. But I didn’t. I replied.
With a plus one.
Enter Hayes Whitley. Mega-movie star. The man who has captured the hearts of millions. But I gave him mine years ago. He was my first love. He was my everything. Right until he up and left to chase his dreams without so much as a simple goodbye.
When he showed up out of the blue ten years later, I should have known to steer clear. I should have rejected his offer to take me to my ex’s wedding and told him he was crazy when he suggested we act like a couple to show my ex, it’s true, I could do better than him.
But I didn’t.
And now we’re left wondering if the pieces of the life we once shared still fit together somehow. First loves are hard to forget. The question is, do we want to forget? Or do we risk the chance and see what happens next?
These two were one of those couples who you just knew would find their way back to each other — it was just a matter of sorting out the tangle of hurt feelings left over by their separation. But you knew they were meant for each other. Even that moment when he first stepped foot in her bakery and she saw him after so many years gave my tingles! I mean, this guy who was now a world famous celebrity, to her was still her brother’s best friend who’d been her first love, first everything, and the boy who’d crushed her heart when he left. But suddenly the man she’d lost to the world was back in her life and like it or not, he wasn’t planning to leave without fixing things between them!
He shrugs, his gaze never wavering. “The way I see it, sometimes things happening life and love’s put on hold. But if someone’s your soul mate, nothing is going to stop you from being together in the end.”
Between drama with her ex’s evil family, the complications of his Hollywood life spilling over into their rekindled relationship, the sexual tension between them that they couldn’t deny, and all the unresolved feelings flooding back, there was never a dull moment, but I really had such a wonderful time getting lost in this story.
“It was never easy. Not a goddamn single day.” He fists his hands. Shakes his head. “If only you knew how I’d come home, collapse into bed from exhaustion, and miss every fucking thing about you.”
This is a full-length standalone romance told in alternating first person perspectives and it has a heart-melting epilogue that is the perfect ending to their story! Oh and I have to give this hero major props because he of course did inevitably screw up but his grovel to woo her back was all kinds of epic!! He brought all the swoon! You’ll see!
If you’re looking for a sexy, swoony, heart-warming second chance love story with a sassy heroine, a heart-throb hero, and some Hollywood drama thrown into the mix, then this is the book for you!!
