“Love isn’t about perfection or beauty….[Its] about needing that certain someone in your life… who makes you feel whole. It’s helping the person you love when they need a hand to stand straight. Love is never giving up on the person you care about.”
What an adorable, sweet short story!! Its only about 8 chapters long and has some steam, some “awww” moments, and an heart warming epilogue.
The author is really good at making you care a lot about the characters very quickly. They have great chemistry, the writing is funny, witty, and flows smoothly. I only wish it was longer – I feel like I would totally have wanted a whole book about Jeremy and Erica.
And c’mon, isn’t that a hot cover?! 🙂
Basically, Seargent Jeremy Addison had a rough night in Vegas and woke up in the middle of the desert, beat up, bloody and alone. After stumbling back to a road, as fate would have it, the only car that comes by is driven by, Erica, a girl he hasn’t seen in seven years but was the one girl he has ever loved and, unfortunately, the girl that got away. Seven years ago, he told her that he loved her, she ran away never giving him an explanation and has regretted it ever since. Their chance encounter brings to light all their past feelings and passion, and this time, they won’t let each other go.
“I’ve loved you my whole life. I couldn’t stop thinking about you. I’ve never stopped thinking about you.”
“That was seven years ago!… People change. They grow up and want different things.”
He shook his head. “Not me. I grew up, but I still want you.”
It only took me about an hour to read. There was a moment when I wanted to throttle the characters but they worked through the misunderstanding within the next chapter so it didn’t last long. And once you found out the reason behind it, the misunderstanding became quite understandable actually.
If you are looking for a fun quick great read, this’ll do the trick!
