Book Review — Not Until You by Corinne Michaels

SQUEEEEEE!!!! OMG I have the biggest silliest grin on my face because I just finished reading this book and the epilogue and ending was just PERFECT!! Not only was the hero of this book sweet, sexy, swoony, and purely heart-melting, but the true star of the show to me in this case was actually the heroine who was feisty, fiery, smart, and I loved how unapologetically she just was who she was and literally did not care what anyone thought. It was really wonderful to read a book with such a truly STRONG heroine!!! At the beginning of the story, she was totally determined that marriage and babies and everything that came with that whole deal wasn’t something she had any interest in, but then a crazy hot Brit showed up in her life and challenged all her plans!! I read this book in one sitting and LOVED it!! If you’re looking for something new to read, TRY THIS!!!

Callum Huxley is a ridiculously sexy Brit, and the connection we have the moment our eyes lock scares the ever-loving hell out of me. Thank God I came to my senses before going back to his hotel where I would’ve ended up naked, panting, and unable to forget him.

I really loved that this heroine had no problem going against societal norms and standing up for what she wanted out of life. And if people, or even her family, didn’t understand or respect her for it, she basically gave them the finger and carried on. I admired how she didn’t need anyone’s approval for what she wanted from her life — it’s a rare quality in a romance heroine and I appreciated reading her character so much. She was bold, forward, and utterly unafraid to stand up for what she wanted, or chase what she desired.

My mother shifts in her seat… “All I want is for you to be happy, get married, have children, but you don’t want any of that. I don’t understand you.”
And that is the heart of the problem. She doesn’t care that I’m not the daughter she wants me to be. She doesn’t see that who I am is exactly who I want to be.
I’m the girl that wants to live life to its fullest.
I’m the girl who wants to be happy, no matter what that looks like.

Meeting Callum though changed a lot of things for her. For one, she never expected him to become her client so as much as she wanted him, as soon as his company offered hers the contract of a lifetime, he became firmly off limits by her rules because she never mixed business with pleasure. However, he shared no such rules and made it his mission to either find a loophole in her rules or make her change them.

I shrug. “No dating clients. It’s a rule I life and die by.”
Callum grins. “We’ll see about that.”

I loved the chase and thrill of their almost-forbidden attraction. I loved that Callum was relentless in his pursuit of her but managed to do so in a way that was never pushy or overbearing.

I didn’t really like the way Nicole handed the “situation” but also couldn’t blame her too much given her history. And thankfully her awesome friends were there to set her straight. Plus, Callum was just such a true genuine sweetheart that it would be impossible for anyone not to see that.

I found this to be an addictive and heart-warming romance with a few surprised, unexpected chuckles, and a whole lot of hotness!! The ending was perfect and the last few lines left me smiling. If you’re looking for a new book to read, definitely try this!!

Note: this book can fully standalone, but it is slightly interconnected with the other books listed down below. The heroines are all BFFs. You can choose to read them in order, or separately, or out of order, and you’ll be totally fine no matter what. I loved all the books so they’re all recommendations 🙂
