  15. I honestly didn’t read straight romance until recently. One of the books that pushed me into more of a romantic direction was Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost. I honestly don’t think I read a contemp romance until I read Sylvia Day’s Bared to You last year and then the floodgates opened!

  62. The first novel that I ever read that made me fall in love with the Romance genre was Years by Lavyrle Spencer. As far as the New Adult Romance genre, it would definitley be Thoughtless by S.C. Stephens. That book opened me up to a whole new world of love 😉

  74. On the Island by Tracy Garvis Graves was the first Romance/NA book and I fell in love with that story. I have read it probably 10 times now cause every few months I re-read it and it just doesn’t get old. Love that story!

  77. I started reading ages ago. I don’t remember what book started my but I’m a huge fan of Nora Roberts, Nicole Edwards, Kallypso Masters. If you need a book name I say The Boonsboro Inn Trilogy by Nora Roberts.

  88. The Romance title that caused me to fall in love with the Genre escapes me as I read it 15 years ago. The heroine’s name was Tessa…there was a cabin, hypothermia, strandedness (a word?!) and a beautiful love story….recently, what brought me out of reading just the erotica I had fallen into was Beautiful Disaster, which lead me to Hopeless, which lead me to Ten Tiny Breaths. In the past 100 books I’ve read (in the last 6 months) I haven’t read one that I didn’t fall in love with that made me rush out (read head to Amazon) and pick up another one.

  93. The book that made me fall in love with the romance genre, was a book I read almost 4 years ago, when I was 14. The book was called A Place To Call Home by Deborah Smith, and I loved it so much.I will never forget it. The book did not have a lot of sexual acts, but it was a book about love, loss, family and it really drew me into it. Then I started reading Nora Roberts books at the age of 14 also, it was then I was presented to a more romantic and sexual books and I adored every and each of her books. Then with Nicholas Sparks and many other great authors. Every and each of one of the books led me to where I am now. Now I love reading about really swoony romance with heavy sex in it. My current favorite book is Bared To you. Ahh, love it.

  106. I’m trying to remember which romance novel was my first that made me fall in love? I started reading the Anita Blake novels like 4 years ago but I know those werent my first. I’m not sure. So I will go with that. hah. <3

  111. I’ve loved romance novels for as long as I can remember, especially those with an air of intrigue & mystery in them. I’d probably have to say Victoria Holt’s On the Night of the Seventh Moon is one of the first romance novels I can remember reading a very, very long time ago, probably back in my teens. After not reading anything except children’s books for many years, I finally read the Twilight Saga back in 2011 & then 50 Shades of Grey. Needless to say, I haven’t stopped reading since!

  124. I don´t think I can remember the first romance I read, but I know that I started reading romance novels in the age of 11.
    A guess – I think the first romance novel I read was called “Are you there god? Its me Margaret”. I read that one several times. Since then there have been too many books that I wouldn´t have a chance to mention them all 😉

  132. The first romance novel I ever read was Lisbon by Valerie Sherwood. At least I think it was a romance novel, I was only 11 when I read it. I just loved that book! I stayed up all night to read it I was so entranced.

  164. Great giveaway!! Great question I’ve been a very avid reader for many years hopping from genre to genre but Kristin Hannah On Mystic Lake stands out but I’ve read all her books! As far as Indie goes lol I’ve read/purchased pretty much everything out there I can tell you I read a book called The Memory Thief by Emily Collins and I haven’t cried so hard since like sobbing where had to catch breath but I Love a you To Death didn’t help either lol

Love Unscripted by Tina Reber got me hooked on romance novels and from there I started reading everything from her to Tiffany A Snow to Sylvia Day to Olivia Cunning to Kallypso Masters to Lexi Blake to Kristen Ashley and so many others So what you bloggers do by letting us know What you find as awesome gives us something we may not ordinarily choose for ourselves!!!!   209. I honestly don’t remember. I’ve always been a reader. I started out with Sci Fi and horror as a kid. Teen years it was paranormal. Now as an adult it started at paranormal romance then one day I found myself reading contemporary romance.

I had gotten out of contemporary and romance for a long while (I was on a total sci-fi/fantasy kick for some time), and My Life Next Door and Wanderlove were the two books I read last year that really propelled me back into the genre–which led me to amazing books like Slammed, Easy, Such and Rush and more 🙂

    Used to read all the time but was more Dean Koontz and Robin Cook. Then I stopped reading when I had kids.
    Then in Jan of ’12, I read the Conversion series by S.C. Stephens and then Fifty Shades and now I am always in one of my ereaders lol. (Have a Kobo, a tablet type ereader and a reading program on my phone lol)

  240. I was always the type of person that hated to read, I don’t know why. Just the thought of picking up a book instantly made reading the worst thing ever. Then, I started reading the Twilight series and I thought, wow, reading isn’t that bad. Then I went into reading 50 Shades of Grey awhile later and got hooked into reading all the time. From 50 Shades of Grey, I went into Thoughtless and Effortless, Beautiful Disaster, Slammed and Point of Retreat, Reason to Breathe and Barely Breathing and the list continues to go on and on. I can’t tell you how many books I’ve read since then, there are currently over 10 books on my kindle that need to be read right now, and I keep buying more!

So I started looking around for it and read the whole series in a matter of 6 days. And after that I was hooked and picked up any book I could get my hands on and later and ebook i could download! I vaguely remember even getting them (every month) in the mail for a while.I honestly don’t remember the name of the first one.

  364. Oh my!!! “Hopeless” by @ColleenHoover left me BREATHLESS. too!! My review was almost written just like yours was, minus the quotes and casting. WOW!!!! I “WILL” be rereading that one for sure! You are not kidding that first kiss has to be the BEST first kiss in HISTORY but without even kissing! I really have NOT been able to get it out of my mind YET, and I read it right after it came out! It IS the BEST of 2012! Without a DOUBT!
    I also read your review of Beautiful Disaster! Great! I have that book, but haven’t yet had a chance to read it, but am DYING to!
