I’m keeping this as a top recommendation for the second week in a row, because honestly, I’m STILL thinking about this story even though it’s now been days since I finished it! It’s really a must-read!
The Mason List by SD Hendrickson (Read my Review)
HOLY WOW!!! This book was just BREATHTAKING!! I absolutely LOVED it and truly FELT this story with all my heart and soul. My heart raced with the intensity as this epic childhood friends-to-lovers romance built over the years and I honestly had tears in my eyes for the whole last 80% of the book. And that epilogue was perfect!!! This easily was one of the most BEAUTIFUL stories I’ve read.
A TOP FAVORITE STANDALONE. 5+++ STARS!!!

Captured by Jasinda Wilder (Read my Review) — standalone
SQUEE!!!! I finished reading this in one sitting and I absolutely LOVED it!!!! Gorgeous emotions with the perfect balance between heart-wrenching and heart-melting… Sexy hotness that had me fanning myself for pages on end… And a story that kept me glued to the book!! This can be read as a standalone and I HIGHLY recommend it!!! It’s been on my TBR since the day it came out and I’m kicking myself for not having read it sooner. I was in the mood for something emotional and so far this is EXACTLY what I wanted!!! It had ALL THE FEELS!! 😀
Withering Hope by Layla Hagen (Read my Review)
I finished this brand new standalone romance while wiping away tears just because of how BEAUTIFUL the epilogue was!! The story is about a woman who is on her way to her wedding when her private jet crashes in the rainforest. With no communication to the outside world and barely any supplies, she and her pilot have to work together to survive. And the more time they spend together, they slowly begin to fall in love… If you’re looking for a “different” love story, give this one a try!! I really enjoyed it!! — And, it’s ONLY $0.99 for a limited time!!!

The Substitute by Denise Grover Swank — New Release!!
LOL!! Omg. This sounds like so much FUN!! It’s a standalone. — The heroine never told her parents about her broken engagement. On the plane over, she has a few drinks and spills her sob story to the tall, dark, and handsome stranger sitting next to her. But when she passes out, he helps her off the plane… And now her parents think he’s her fiancé. So he plays along… He’s only supposed to be a substitute groom, but the more time he spends with her, the more their pretend engagement starts to feel real… and the less they want to break it off.
Three Brothers by Nicole Williams — New Release!!
Wow!! This standalone sounds so unique!!! The heroine grew up alongside three brothers (not related to her). Over the years she moved away and spent time trying to forget the brother she’d fallen for — the biggest mistake of her life. But now she’s back… And a decade is a long time to wait. Has the brother she should have chosen moved on too? Is she about to discover that her biggest mistake wasn’t falling in love with the wrong brother, but failing to return the love of the right one sooner? Does unrequited love have an expiration date? She’s about to find out.
Mayhem by Jamie Shaw — New Release!!
This rock star romance is recommended by author Jay Crownover!! — The heroine is a college freshman who shares one kiss with an up-and-coming rock star on his tour bus. On the first day of school, she’s stunned to see him in her French class. He’s soon failing miserably, and, on a whim, she offers to tutor him. But he doesn’t recognize her… She’s now a makeup free college student who looks nothing like the mysterious girl he met at his concert… who he can’t stop thinking about. And she has to decide if she’s willing to risk her heart with a player and tell him the truth.
Seducing Destiny by Amelia Hutchins — New Release!!
This is the fourth book in the Fae Chronicles series. This PNR series has very high ratings and should be read in order! — These have dominant alpha male characters and the blurb calls the series “dark, dangerous, intense, gritty and raw. Scenes are dark, disturbing, and scorching HOT… Side Effects may include, but are not limited to: Drooling, lip biting, wet panties, crying, and screaming at the author.”
Book 1, Book 2, Book 3, Book 4.
The Hookup by Kristen Callihan — New Release!!
Football player alert!! This highly rated college romance was just re-released with a new cover!! It’s the first standalone in a series of standalones. Next book is a different couple. Also, this is on sale for $2.99 (reg. $4.99).
The rules: no kissing on the mouth, no staying the night, no telling anyone, and above all… No falling in love. Too bad he’s committed to making her break every rule…
The Line Between by Tamsyn Bester — New Release!!
This seems to be an “enemies to lovers” type romance, and it’s the first standalone in a series of standalones.
“There’s a fine line between love and hate, so fine that you don’t know you’ve lost balance until it’s too late. I’m not sure exactly when I lost my balance, all I know is that he was to blame. The boy who’d spent most of his life hating me for reasons I never understood… Until the line between love and hate was no longer visible…”
Burned by Karen Marie Moning — New Release!!
This is the 7th book in the Fever series!! This amazing urban fantasy/paranormal romance series has been one of my favorites for a long time and should be read in order as it follows one continuous storyline throughout all the books. Go to: Reading Order.
“The only one Mac can depend on is the powerful, dangerous immortal Jericho Barrons, but even their fiery bond is tested by betrayal.”
The Prince by Sylvain Reynard — New Release!!
This novella serves as a tie-in between the Gabriel Trilogy and the upcoming Florentine Trilogy (beginning with The Raven on Feb 3rd).
The unveiling of a set of priceless illustrations in Florence exposes Professor Gabriel Emerson and his beloved wife, Julianne, to a mysterious enemy… Now one of the most dangerous beings in the city is determined to reclaim his prize and exact his revenge on the Emersons…
Between Everything And Us by Rebecca Paula — New Release!!
Bad boy romance alert!! — Matisse is determined to make her sophomore year of college successful after failing out of a prestigious art school… Then Beau Grady moves in and shakes up her world. A college dropout and tattooed bad boy, the rumors about him mean one thing — trouble. Once a star hockey player and gifted student, he’s put his life on hold after receiving a life-altering diagnosis… Falling for her means having to face a future he’d rather forget, but loving her just might be worth it…
Love Hurts by Mani Beck — New Release!!
This is the first book in a series with a cage fighter hero.
“Even when she won’t fight for us, I’ll go to war for her…
She’s my girl, my best friend. I haven’t earned her yet, but I won’t stand by and let anyone take her from me. She will be the greatest fight of my life, but she’s worth the battle. Love hurts, but anything worth having does, right?”
The Farther I Fall by Lisa Nicholas — New Release!!
This is a rock star romance.
The heroine got out of Afghanistan alive but scarred. When she’s offered a job managing the U.S. tour for rock music’s hottest, most troubled star, her instructions are simple: start the shows on time, and keep him clean… But Lucas Wheeler may be more than she can handle.

Each book can be read alone (they’re about different couples) but the stories are interconnected and I adored the first standalone, The Will, it was one of my Best Books of 2014 and a top recommendation so I recommend reading them in order. And I can’t wait for this next one to come out!!

Absolution by Amanda Dick (Read my Review)
This was really beautiful love story — a second chance romance standalone with a heart-wrenching back story. — After a car accident shatters his girlfriend’s spine, Jack McKenna disappeared. Desperate to escape the guilt, he spent four years hiding in the shadows, punishing himself for not having the courage to go back to her. Then, out of the blue, a phone call forces him to face up to everything and everyone he left behind… especially her.
Never Never by Colleen Hoover & Tarryn Fisher (Read My Review)
This was fast-paced, thrilling, mysterious, exciting, romantic, and kept me guessing the whole way though. I literally could not put it down!!
Best friends since they could walk. In love since they were fourteen.
Complete strangers since this morning.
He’ll do anything to remember.
She’ll do anything to forget.
The Pact by Karina Halle (Read my Review)
If you’re looking for a standalone to fall in love with, this friend-to-lovers romance was fun, hot, a little angsty, and kept me glued to the page!!
The hero is a ruggedly handsome helicopter pilot. The heroine is an ambitious businesswoman. They’ve been best friends forever. Back in their 20’s, they made a pact to marry each other if neither one of them are in a serious relationship by the time they hit thirty… And as they get closer, their pact is put to the test!!
Bad Romeo by Leisa Rayven (Read my Review)
SQUEE!! I absolutely LOOOOVED this book!!! It’s a second chance romance with a moody, brooding, tortured bad boy hero and this INTENSE “hate-to-love-each-other”, dysfunctional-but-can’t-stay-away, love-you-forever-no-matter-how-painful type of love story. It just had this SPARK that made my heart RACE!! 5 STARS!!
“If you want me to apologize, I’ll do it until I lose my fucking voice. I just want things to be right between us. Talk to me. Help me fix this.”
Clipped Wings by Helena Hunting
I recently finished this and loved it! It’s a contemporary romance (not paranormal) about two broken people falling in love. The hero is tall, dark, mysterious, and tattooed. He runs a tattoo parlor and is intrigued when the girl from across the street comes in and shows him the hauntingly beautiful, intricate tattoo she wants him to ink onto her. It’s kind of funny, sweet, but also edgy and a little angsty.
Here’s (my review) and I’ll start the sequel, Inked Armor, soon!
