LIST of STANDALONE ROMANCE RECOMMENDATIONS

If you looking for a romance book with no cliffhanger, then this is the list for you!!

The way I classify a standalone is a book that completely wraps up by the end and does not require any other book to be read first. I update this list regularly so be sure to check back to see if there are any new additions 🙂

Some of the books on this list were originally written as standalones but now have sequels either released or in the works. Regardless, the first books can still be read on their own so I’m keeping them on this list.

This is the highly anticipated sequel to The Secret of Ella and Micha by Jessica Sorensen. I loved book #1 and can’t wait to read this next installment in the story. You can read my review of the first book here or click here to buy it ($1.99).

DARE YOU TO (Pushing The Limits #2) by Katie McGarry — NEW RELEASE

This is the sequel to Pushing The Limits, which I absolutely LOVED and would highly recommend! Here’s my review. The reading order is: Pushing The Limits, Crossing The Line (optional novella), and then Dare You To.

JET (Marked Men #2) by Jay Crownover — NEW RELEASE

Book #1, Rule, was a huge hit with many of the bad boy fans here. Jet is book #2 in the series and follows one of the side characters mentioned in Rule. I’m looking forward to reading them both!

SWEET THING by Renee Carlino — SALE $0.99

I have a new book boyfriend and his name is Will Ryan. I’m in love. Oh, and did I mention he was a bit of a rockstar?? Sweet Thing was a sweet, heartbreaking and romantic story that kept me up reading all night! Here’s my review.

THERE IS NO LIGHT IN DARKNESS (Darkness #1) by Claire Contreras — SALE $0.99

This book had me so so SO freaking HOOKED!! I couldn’t put it down! It had ANGST (my heart was racing!), mystery (I had SO many questions!) and OMG I am in LOVE with Cole!!! Oh, and it’s on SALE for $0.99 right now! I’m writing my review now but it’s a top recommendation! And the sequel (last book in the series) comes out this Friday so not long to wait!!

THE FINAL PIECE by Maggie Myers — SALE $0.99

This was a captivating, emotional story of a girl healing from shattered trust and childhood abuse, finding her self worth, and falling in love. It was a beautiful book – hard to read in places, but really well written, and had a happy ending. Here is my review.

A DIFFERENT BLUE by Amy Harmon — SALE $0.99

From the blurb –> “This is the story of a nobody who becomes somebody. It is the story of an unlikely friendship, where hope fosters healing and redemption becomes love. But falling in love can be hard when you don’t know who you are. Falling in love with someone who knows exactly who they are and exactly why they can’t love you back might be impossible.” Here’s my review.

TANGLED by Emma Chase — TOP RECOMMENDATION

One of the most HILARIOUS, romantic, all-out FUN books I’ve ever read. If you want a good laugh, this is a MUST read!!!! Just think Wallbanger meets Beautiful Bastard 😀 I swear half my book is highlighted. This is one of my TOP recommendations for EVERYONE! Read my review for more details.

THE SEA OF TRANQUILITY by Katja Millay — SALE!!!!!

This is one of the best books I’ve ever read. EVER. In my entire life. It is Beautiful. Powerful. Deep. Heart-wrenching. Believable. Uplifting. Absolutely everyone should read this book at some point in their lives. And… this is one of those books that almost never goes on sale and right now it’s almost 50% off!! BEAUTY FROM PAIN (Beauty #1) by Georgia Cates — SALE $0.99

I just finished this last night and really enjoyed it!! I’m writing my review today. I was holding off before because it has a cliffhanger ending. But, the second book will be released on May 30th so if you’re interested, now’s the time to grab it while it’s on sale!!

LOCKED (The Alpha Group #1) by Maya Cross — SALE $0.99

I haven’t read this yet but I hear that this series is apparently along the lines of Fifty Shades and Crossfire so if you’re looking for a dominant Alpha, you might find him here! I’m looking forward to reading them 🙂 The first book is on sale for $0.99 and the second book “Lockout” was just released.

THE VINCENT BOYS and THE VINCENT BROTHERS by Abbi Glines — SALE $1.99 each

Both books in this series are $1.99 for a limited time. Again, they’re usually $8 each so this is quite the steal. They’re on my to-read pile and I’m looking forward to them both!

INESCAPABLE (Premonition #1) by Amy Bartol — SALE $0.99

This is on SALE for $0.99 for a limited time. I can’t count how many times I’ve had this series recommended to me! It’s at the TOP of my Paranormal Romance to-read pile and I can’t wait to get to it. It sounds amazing!!!

THE THOMPSON SISTERS SERIES by Charles Sheehan-Miles — SALE BUNDLE!

This is a steal of a deal!! All 3 books in this series are bundled together for only $7.99 at the moment. They are all on my top top top to-read list. They sounds exactly like the kind of book I just LOVE — highly emotionally charged love stories. I’m SO looking forward to reading them and considering they’re usually $3.99 each, getting all 3 of them for $7.99 is just crazy awesome!

AROUSE (A Spiral of Bliss #1) by Nina Lane – not on sale but worth every penny!

This is a beautiful story that, unlike many romance books, tells the story of an already-married couple. It takes you through theirs highs and lows and is absolutely beautifully written. Consider it something like the book that takes place after the couple gets their happily-ever-after. Highly, highly recommended!! Here’s my review.

ALLURE (A Spiral of Bliss #2) by Nina Lane

New release!! This is the sequel to Arouse and if it was even possible, I loved it more than Arouse. It had SUCH a powerful ending. One of the best I’ve ever read! Here’s my spoiler-free review. This series is definitely now one of my all-time favs! LOVE!

New release!! This is the sequel to Arouse and it just got bumped to the top of my reading list. I fell in love with Dean and Olivia in book #1 and can’t wait to read more of their story! **EDIT: I’m starting this TODAY!! 🙂

EYES WIDE OPEN (The Blackstone Affair #3) by Raine Miller

New release!! Sexy, alluring and seductive! I just loved this book! I’m totally hooked on this series that would be perfect for fans of the Crossfire books. It’s got love, passion and mystery and a hero who will just swoon your socks off! Highly recommended! Here’s my review.

But be sure to read the first two books (Naked and All In) first!

UNBEAUTIFULLY (Undeniable #2) by Madeline Sheehan

New release!! I haven’t read this series yet but I know a lot of people who are in love with it. It’s raw and gritty and on my to-read pile!

I’m going to be reading this book sometimes in the next week or two. I’ve heard people absolutely love it but I was holding off because it has a cliffhanger ending. But, the second book will be released on May 30th so if you’re interested, now’s the time to grab it while it’s on sale. Personally, I can’t wait to read it!

UNTIL I BREAK by M. Leighton (My Review)

New release!! Dark, sexy and dangerous. This is a standalone romance with a happy ending that has a super original plot line! It’s a little bit dark and twisted but doesn’t go tooooo far if you know what I mean. I enjoyed it!

BECAUSE OF LOW and WHILE IT LASTS by Abbi Glines

These are books 2 & 3 in the Sea Breeze series and are on sale for $1.99 each (down from $8 each). They read as stand alones and you can start the series with book #2 according to the author, in fact she actually recommends it. I can’t wait to read these!! Everyone loves them!

I’m SO excited to be able to finally share this with you guys!!!!!

I was approached a few weeks ago by Amazon’s Publishing Division and Montlake Romance and asked to participate in an upcoming series of podcasts called Kindle Love Stories.

Each week Kindle Love Stories focuses on one book of their choosing and they read aloud an excerpt and then interview the author.

But, after that, there is a 15 minute segment where myself and 2 other bloggers join in for a group chat with host Laura Roppé about the hottest books of the week, upcoming releases, and things we love about certain characters and the reading community in general.

If you want to listen to it, you can go to the official Kindle Love Stories website and there is an option to play the podcast there.

*** The part of the podcast that I’m a part of begins at 25:05 (after the author interview) so you can either listen to the whole thing or skip ahead to any part you want.

SEMPRE NEWS!!! J.M. Darhower just said that the rights to SEMPRE + the sequel (yes! sequel!!) were just sold to Simon & Schuster!!!! Sempre will be re-released as an eBook in November and THE SEQUEL WILL BE OUT A MONTH LATER IN DECEMBER!! With paperbacks following in early 2014!!! And also….

Both books are currently going through edits. Regarding Sempre, she says “It’ll just be more tightened and focused when it’s re-released (and may or may not have some extended content of the sexual nature… but yeah… MOVING ON… DON’T KILL ME… I LOVE YOU).”

Sempre will be unavailable for purchase until then, but she says that when it gets rereleased, the eBook price won’t change and she’s guessing that the paperback prices will drop now that she isn’t publishing them herself.

Last night I suddenly became brave and started a book I’ve been wanting to start forever now but have been too scared too –> The Fault In Our Stars by John Green. I won’t lie, the subject matter scares the hell out of me but I read some absolutely beautiful quotes that made me just HAVE to try it out. Here is a quote from my reading last night that I just LOVED –> “Sometimes, you read a book and it fills you with this weird evangelical zeal, and you become convinced that the shattered world will never be put back together unless and until all living humans read the book.” ♥
